Report: Spurs star could be ‘within reach’ of Barcelona after Conte’s arrival

Spanish outlet Sport have claimed that Tanguy Ndombele could be within Barcelona’s reach amidst Tottenham’s rumoured move for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.

Kessie’s current deal expires at the end of the season and Milan have so far been unsuccessful in their attempts to tie the midfielder down to a new contract.

Reports have indicated that the Ivory Coast international is one of the players Conte has asked the Spurs hierarchy to bring in.

Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by GIFN) have even claimed that Tottenham are ‘in advanced talks’ to land the Milan star, with the North London club ready to meet his salary demands of €8m (£6.8m) per season.

Sport have now suggested that Kessie’s potential arrival at Spurs has opened the door for Barcelona to swoop for Ndombele.

The Catalan club are alleged to be keen on adding a powerful midfielder to their squad, with the Spurs star said to be at the top of their wishlist.

With Kessie having similar attributes to Ndombele, it is explained that Tottenham would prefer to recover some of the money they spent on the Frenchman should they snap up the Milan midfielder.

Spurs Web Opinion

I think this is a case of Sport just putting two and two together amidst news of Tottenham’s interest in Kessie.

One should not forget that Conte was also alleged to have wanted Ndombele at Inter during the summer. So, perhaps the Italian sees the midfielder as a good fit for his system.

I think the 52-year-old will at least want to take a close look at the former Lyon man before deciding on whether he is part of his plans.
