Report: Spurs star forced to reconsider after dream move ‘collapses’

Christian Eriksen is mulling over a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League rivals Manchester United according to a report in The Mirror.

The report claims that the Dane is considering whether a move to Old Trafford would be suitable after a switch to join Spanish giants Real Madrid collapsed.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has already signed playmaker Eden Hazard from Chelsea and is keen to also recruit United’s Paul Pogba.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is prepared to let Eriksen leave North London this summer, with the player having just a year left on his contract but wants £100million.

Eriksen revealed earlier this month his desire to leave Spurs in order to seek a fresh challenge (Ekstra Bladet).

The 27-year-old is also said to be open to a move to join Juventus after his La Liga dream meant he has had to review alternative destinations.

He has scored 66 goals in 277 appearances for the club since joining from Ajax in 2013 and will certainly leave a creative void that Mauricio Pochettino will look to fill if he does end his six-season spell in North London.
