The Athletic have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are yet to hand a new contract to Eric Dier, whose current deal with the club only has a year left to run.
Dier has been one of Tottenham’s best players in the two matches since the restart with the 26-year-old showing he is more than capable of making the centre-half spot his own.
The England international has admitted that he is enjoying his new role in the side.
The Athletic claim that Dier has been outstanding in training in recent weeks after putting the injury problems he suffered last season behind him.
It is said that Jose Mourinho’s values the former Sporting Lisbon man very highly. Dier also reportedly gets on well with the Spurs boss and is happy to stay at the club.
However, it is alleged that if Tottenham do not offer a new contract, Dier will not hesitate to leave the Premier League and try his luck abroad with his ability to speak both Portuguese and Spanish giving him the opportunity to settle in a foreign country .

Unless things go drastically downhill for Dier in the next seven matches, he is nailed on to get a new contract form the club in the summer. I believe he will go on to be a fixture for us at centre-half over the next few years.
