Report: Spurs star has agreed new contract after Nuno talks

Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Son Heung-min over a new contract.

Nuno Espirito Santo bullishly asserted in his first press conference as Tottenham boss on Friday that Harry Kane remains a Spurs player. However, the striker continues to be heavily linked with a move to Manchester City.

In contrast to Kane’s situation, there has been barely any speculation linking Son with a move away from the North London club.

It was reported as far back in January that Tottenham were in advanced talks with the South Korean over a new deal.

Football Insider have now revealed that Son was close to penning a deal before Christmas before negotiations stalled.

However, following talks with Nuno, the 29-year-old is said to have now agreed to pen a new contract and is said to be looking forward to playing under the Portuguese coach.

A source is quoted as saying that a new deal which will see Son earn more than £200,000-a-week, is “done”.

The value of Son signing a new contract cannot be underestimated as it will mean that the South Korean will spend his peak years with Spurs. It would be bigger than any signing we could make this summer.
