Report: Spurs star has given his international boss big headache ahead of Euros

Estadio Deportivo have claimed that Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has a big selection headache ahead of the Euros, given how well Pedro Porro has been playing for Tottenham this season.

Porro had a difficult start to life at Spurs after arriving from Sporting Lisbon in January of 2023, with the Spaniard being found wanting defensively at times.

However, the 24-year-old has turned a corner since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou last summer and has been one of Tottenham’s most consistent performers this season.

The right-back was part of the recent Spain squad and his form has now given De La Fuente a ‘strong dilemma’ according to Estadio Deportivo.

Pedro Porro wants to make the Spain EUROs squad

The report says that the Tottenham man is doing all he can to book a place on the flight to Germany by putting in consistent performances and he is making it quite hard to leave him out of the squad.

The outlet says that previously Porro did not get too many chances due to the presence of Jesus Navas and Dani Carvajal, but he has continued fighting and it is now looking like he will be part of the big tournament this summer.

The publication adds that De La Fuente is aware that the former Sporting star is statistically one of the best full-backs in the Premier League this season.

The Spain boss thus has a big decision to make on whether to take the Spurs man, to continue backing the Vertrans, or to perhaps take all three players to the Euros.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt in my mind that Porro will go to the Euros. Whether he plays ahead of Dani Carvajal remains to be seen but one would think that the Tottenham man would have moved ahead of Jesus Navas in the pecking order.
