Report: Spurs star has now knocked back multiple offers from the club

According to Football Insider, Danny Rose has knocked back multiple offers from Tottenham Hotspur to terminate his contract.

Rose has not featured for Tottenham for well over a year and the defender has not played any competitive first-team football since returning from his spell on at loan at Newcastle in the second half of last season.

The long-serving Spurs star, who controversially had a heated argument with Jose Mourinho last season in the All or Northing documentary, has been completely frozen out of the picture at Hotspur Way this season.

There was speculation linking the England international with a move to Turkey in the January transfer window but the move failed to materialise.

Football Insider now claim that Spurs have tried to take the 30-year-old’s salary off their wage bill by buying out a significant portion of his contract.

However, the experienced defender is said to have rejected all the offers and made it clear to the club that he wants to be paid the full amount remaining on his current deal which runs out in the summer.

Rose is obviously well within his right to demand a full pay-out from Spurs but at 30 years of age, he could potentially still be playing in the Premier League. I suspect he will look back with regret on this wasted season a few years down the line.
