Report: Spurs star has played his last game for the club despite some reports

The Mirror have reported that Hugo Lloris has indeed played his final game for Tottenham Hotspur and will leave the club in the summer transfer window.

With the Frenchman having one year left on his current Spurs contract,  The Times reported this week that an offer from Saudi Arabia had arrived for Lloris, which would see him earn over £300,000 per week.

The Times also added that Lloris has not completely made his mind up on his future yet, as he wants to have a conversation with the hierarchy and see who the new Spurs manager will be first.

If true, this would imply that Lloris harbours some hope of the new manager choosing him as the number one for another season.

Despite claims that Lloris has played his final game for the club, The Athletic claim Spurs want their club captain to stick around for the final year of his contract. Unfortunately, the goalkeeper is not keen on the idea of being the number two choice.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I would love to see Lloris stick around for one more season as direct competition for whoever Spurs bring in as his replacement. Competition breeds higher performances. Plus, it would be sad for his last-ever Spurs game to be that Newcastle embarrassment.
