Report: Spurs star is still being considered by Manchester United

It has now been nearly two months since Christian Eriksen came out and revealed that he wanted to seek a fresh challenge away from Tottenham Hotspur (Ekstra Bladet).

Despite inviting interest from Real Madrid during his interview, a move away from North London is yet to materialise.

The 27-year-old is now within the last twelve months of his contract at Spurs and run the risk of the Dane leaving on a free transfer next summer when his deal expires if they do not sell him during this window, or get him to sign a new deal.

The Daily Mail claim that Manchester United are still weighing up a potential move for the Spurs playmaker ahead of the transfer window which closes for Premier League sides at 5pm on Thursday 8th August, just prior to the new top flight campaign getting underway (talkSPORT).

Opinion

If Eriksen was to join Manchester United it would come as a surprise to come Spurs fans given the fact that the Old Trafford side are playing Europe League football next season. Whilst they will be comfortably able to increase Eriksen’s salary, they cannot offer the same quality of European competition for the season ahead.
