Report: Spurs star waiting to see who next manager is before making transfer decision

According to a report from Voetbal 24, Toby Alderweireld is waiting to see who Tottenham appoint as their next manager before making a decision on his future.

Alderweireld, who has a little over two years left on his contract, has started all six games since Ryan Mason took over as interim head coach after Jose Mourinho’s sacking.

However, reports have indicated that the Belgian international could be on his way out of the club this summer.

Rumours indicate that PSV Eindhoven could look to bring the 32-year-old back to the Eredivisie this summer, while a return to Ajax has also been mooted as a possibility for the centre-back.

Voetbal 24 now claim that Belgian side Club Brugge are also plotting a move for Alderweireld when the transfer window opens.

While the Tottenham star is said to be open to a switch closer to home this summer, it is explained that he will only make a decision after Spurs appoint a new manager.

Spurs Web Opinion

It seems pretty evident that Sanchez is on his way out of Spurs this summer. If the club decide to sign two new centre-backs this summer (as Alasdair Gold has suggested) then I believe Alderweireld is the most likely player to follow Sanchez out of the door due to his age and contract situation.
