Report: Spurs star would want to know key factor before considering Everton move

The Independent have revealed that Dele Alli would want to know who Everton’s next manager would be before factoring in a decision on whether a move to Merseyside is a possibility.

Tottenham are reportedly looking to offload Alli before the transfer deadline on Monday (Evening Standard).

The Daily Mail reported on Tuesday that Newcastle, Brighton, Burnley, Everton and Borussia Dortmund are battling it out for the midfielder’s signature.

The Telegraph subsequently revealed that Southampton had also entered the race for the England Under-21 international but added that the Saints might not be in a position to match cover his £100,000-a-week salary.

The Independent have now backed up the claim regarding Everton’s interest in Alli, revealing that the former MK Dons man is one of the players being considered by the Toffees.

Duncan Ferguson is currently serving as the caretaker manager at Goodison Park after the club parted ways with Rafael Benitez.

The Independent add that former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is currently the front-runner to replace Benitez.

Spurs Web Opinion

Lampard has spoken in glowing terms about Dele in the past (Bleacher Report). There are certainly plenty of similarities between Lampard as a player and the Tottenham man.

Perhaps, the 43-year-old would back himself to get the best out of the former MK Dons man should he get the Everton job.
