Report: Spurs player’s agent keeping ‘silent’ over move amidst negotiations

According to a report from De Telegraaf (as relayed by Sport Witness), Steven Bergwijn’s entourage are keeping their cards close to their chests as Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax continue to negotiate a fee for the winger.

Fabrizio Romano revealed on Monday that Tottenham had decided to cash in on Bergwijn this month, with various clubs showing interest in the wide man.

He added that Ajax had submitted an offer for the former PSV Eindhoven man but were yet to reach an agreement with the North London club.

It then emerged from sources in Holland that the offer made from the Eredivisie giants for the Tottenham star was worth around £15m but the bid had been rejected.

De Telegraaf have now offered an update on the 25-year-old’s future, explaining that Spurs and Ajax remain locked in negotiations for Bergwijn.

The report explains that this is the third time Ajax are looking to sign the Netherlands international, having previously competed with Spurs for his signature before trying again to sign him on loan last summer.

It is stated that Bergwijn’s agent Muy Manero is keeping ‘silent’ about everything and that the Tottenham star ‘will only officially think’ about a move once the two clubs reach an agreement.

If Spurs have decided to cash in on Bergwijn, that suggests that the club expect to bring in at least one forward/winger before the end of the month. A deal for Traore likely has no impact on this since Conte reportedly wants to employ the Wolves man as a right-wing-back.
