Tottenham are increasing their interest in Peterborough defender Ronnie Edwards ahead of a potential move this summer, according to Football Insider.

Edwards has emerged as one of the most exciting defensive prospects in the Championship since the Posh acquired him from National League outfit Barnet in 2020.

And his displays have reportedly captured the attention of Tottenham, with Football Insider now claiming they are planning on ‘stepping up’ their interest.

The report says Spurs have checked in on the England U19 international regularly in recent weeks ahead of lining up a possible transfer ahead of next season.

It adds that Peterborough are braced for a bid from Spurs this summer, but also from other suitors going forward.

The 19-year-old has cemented a place in the first-team squad at centre-back this term, recording 28 appearances as his side currently sit 22nd in the Championship (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

Edwards seems to be attracting a lot of attention which is impressive given how much Peterborough have struggled throughout this season.

If Tottenham are that interested in him, then they should look to get a bid in as soon as they can to avoid other clubs coming in and potentially swooping him away.
