Report: Spurs still keen on Spaniard who was valued at around £50m earlier this year

Tottenham Hotspur still retain an interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore, according to The Telegraph.

The club’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici is set to meet with Daniel Levy in the coming days to discuss the upcoming transfer window with the Spanish international still on their radar.

Football Insider claimed in August that Traore had told super agent Jorge Mendes to do everything possible to help secure a move to North London while Nuno Espirito Santo was still in charge.

Wolves were insistent that they had no intention of selling the jet-heeled winger on the final day of the summer transfer window and it would have taken an offer in the region of around £50million to turn the head of the Molineux outfit (The Athletic).

Traore is out of contract in the Black Country in the summer of 2023 (transfermarkt) and has yet to agree an extension with the club he joined from Middlesbrough in 2018.

Traore has often caused Tottenham problems down the flank when he has lined up against us, however, his end product is still not up to the standard of a top-four club.

This season, in 17 matches in all competitions, the 25-year-old is yet to score a goal or even provide an assist.
