Report: Vlahovic’s new contract talks with Fiorentina have ground to a halt

According to a report from Grand Hotel Calciomercato, the negotiations between rumoured Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic and Fiorentina over a new contract have now ground to a halt.

Reports over recent days have indicated that Spurs and Atletico Madrid are battling it out for Vlahovic’s signature.

However, Fiorentina were also continuing their negotiations with the centre-forward over a new contract, even though the Serie A club’s offer to the 21-year-old allegedly fell short of the salary Spurs were ready to provide.

It now looks as though the Serbian international has taken a further step towards leaving the Artemio Franchi Stadium, with Grand Hotel Calciomercato revealing that talks regarding a new deal have completely stopped.

The report explains that there were disagreements between the parties regarding the signing-on bonuses for the striker as well as the agent fee that Vlahovic’s representatives would be owed in the event the player leaves next summer.

Additionally, it is also revealed that while Vlahovic’s entourage only wanted to sign a four-year deal, Fiorentina were insisting on a five-year contract.

Spurs Web Opinion

This is certainly positive news as far as Tottenham’s pursuit of Vlahovic is concerned. However, it still remains to be seen if the North London club will outbid Atletico for the 21-year-old. I do not expect us to do so unless we plan on selling Harry Kane.
