Report: Spurs submit £26m offer for midfielder – PSG also interested

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Tottenham Hotspur have submitted a €30m (£25.6m) offer for Lazio star Joaquin Correa.

Correa has blossomed since his move to Lazio in 2018 and the versatile attacker, who registered 11 goals and 6 assists in all competitions last season, is said to be the subject of interest from both Spurs and Paris Saint-German.

Tottenham were first credited with an interest in the 26-year-old by Gazzetta, who reported two weeks ago that the Lazio star was valued at £34m.

Multiple sources from Italy have since revealed that Tottenham’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, is keen on snapping up the attacking midfielder.

Alfredo Pedulla has now backed up that claim, suggesting that Paratici had previously tried in a vain sign the Lazio star when he was at Juventus and is now determined to bring him to North London.

The journalist stated that while Tottenham have made a €30m (£25.6m) offer for the Argentine international, PSG have offered €10m (£8.5m) plus Pablo Sarabia in exchange for Correa.

He explains that while Lazio like Correa, they are demanding that the Ligue 1 giants raise the money offered to around €15m (€12.83m).

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that Correa is much more effective playing as a number ten behind the striker than he is out wide, a move for the Argentine would not be good news for Dele Alli’s Spurs future.

If we do decide to cash in on Dele and bring in a number ten, I would personally prefer Sabitzer to Correa as I believe the Austrian would find it much easier to adapt to the Premier League.
