Report: Spurs suffer injury blow after first-team regular could be out until May

Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt another injury blow after Ben Davies has been ruled out of action for the next four to six weeks, according to Football.London.

The Welsh international was forced off during the first half of the 3-3 match against Southampton on Saturday, having retained his place in the side at left-wing back and cut a figure of frustration as he left the pitch.

Davies sustained a hamstring injury at St Mary’s which has also seen him have to withdraw from the Welsh squad for their double header against Croatia and Latvia.

If the defender is indeed ruled out for six weeks, he will not return to action until the final month of the season and will miss some crucial matches on the horizon including Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

With Ryan Sessegnon having also been sidelined with a hamstring problem for a number of weeks, Tottenham must now rely on 34-year-old Ivan Perisic to step in and play week in, week out.

The Croatian arrived in north London with plenty of experience and pedigree under his best, however, it would be fair to say that he has been nothing short of disappointing during the second half of this season to date.
