Report: Spurs table £22 million offer for striker with 15 goals in 28 games this season

Tottenham have tabled an official £22 million bid for Fenerbahce striker, Vedat Muriqi, according to the latest reports from Turkey.

Muriqi has been in prolific form in front of goal for club and country this season. He has registered fifteen goals and six assists in 28 games in all competitions for Fenerbahce (transfermarkt).

The 25-year-old was said to be on Tottenham’s radar during the January transfer window (Aksam) but a move never materialised.

Fatnik reported at the start of the month that the Lilywhites will once again return for the Albanian international this summer and that they have agreed to meet Fenerbahce’s asking price.

The same publication now reports that Spurs have tabled their first offer of around £22 million for the forward.

Lazio are also said to hold a keen interest in Muriqi but it is asserted that the Serie A side will have to match Tottenham’s offer to stand any chance of landing the striker.

Spurs Web Opinion

Of all the strikers we’ve been linked with since January, I believe Muriqi’s profile suits our needs the most. He is terrific in the air and at holding up the ball and will thus give us a plan B we’ve been lacking since Llorente left. I also believe he can also be accommodated in the same team as Kane with the England striker playing in-behind him.
