Report: Spurs table offer for prime summer target

Tottenham Hotspur may be in the market for a new centre back come the summer, with Toby Alderweireld looking as if he may be on the way out of the club.

Alderweireld’s contract was extended by an extra year in 2019, but this triggered a clause that will allow him to leave if a £25m bid comes in during a point in the summer.

Vertonghen is also over 30 now, and Tottenham may begin to look towards the future of their central defence.

Spurs have been heavily linked with Sampdoria’s Joachim Andersen in recent months, with Calciomercato claiming that the North London club were in ‘pole position’ to sign him.

Another development this week, as they now claim that Spurs have tabled an offer of 25 million Euros for the 22-year-old (reported by Spurs.vitalfootball).

Sampdoria have apparently yet to respond to the offer, but it looks as if the Tottenham-Andersen links will be running throughout the summer.
