A report in L’Equipe has claimed that rumoured Tottenham target, Jonathan Bamba, may miss out on a summer move due to his poor end to the season.
Bamba has developed significantly since arriving at Lille in 2018 as a promising talent.
Until just a few months ago, it looked as though it was only a matter of time before one of the big boys of European football came calling for the 25-year-old.
It was reported back in March that Bamba was one of the options Spurs were looking at as a potential replacement for Gareth Bale in the summer.
However, it has now been suggested that his struggles in the last few months of the campaign could cause suitors to rethink their pursuit of the winger.
While the France Under-21 international certainly had an important part to play in Lille’s Ligue 1 triumph, managing six goals and eleven assists in the league, he failed to score a single goal after January 17th.
L’Equipe claim that the 18-game goal drought could cost Bamba a big move during this summer’s transfer window.
It is explained that the Frenchman’s ‘very disappointing’ end to the campaign makes him more likely to stick around at the Stade Pierre Mauroy for next season.
