Report: Spurs target French club with double transfer raid

According to reports emerging from France, Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho has given his approval for the club’s plans of a possible double raid for Lille duo Boubakary Soumare and Victor Osimhen.

Soumare has gone on to establish himself as one of the first names in Lille’s midfield despite being just 20 years of age. His performances in the Champions League this season have caught the eye.

Le 10 Sport report that Tottenham are ready to submit an offer for the defensive midfielder in the January transfer window. Spurs are said to be confident of landing the young Frenchman due to Mourinho’s close relationship with Lille’s sporting director Luis Campos.

Meanwhile, Jeunes Footeux reports that Mourinho is also keen on landing Lille striker Victor Osimhen, as he seeks to sign a striker in January in order to take some pressure off Harry Kane.

The 20-year-old has netted 11 goals in 20 appearances for the Ligue 1 club so far this campaign (TEAMtalk).

Spurs Web Opinion

Given the great relationship Mourinho has with Campos, it is entirely possible that these deals could go through in January. Soumare, in particular, is an extremely exciting prospect and looks very much like being the next big midfield talent coming out of French football. So I believe landing him in January will be a real coup for the club.
