According to La Repubblica (as relayed by FC Inter 1908), Inter Milan are the latest club to enter the race for Tottenham target, Franck Kessie.

Kessie was reported to be on Tottenham’s radar during the summer transfer window but despite having less than twelve months left to run on his contract, the midfielder ended up staying put at the San Siro.

Some sources have claimed that the Lilywhites could try to land the 24-year-old for free next summer while it has also been suggested that Milan could cash in on Kessie for a mere £7.5m in January.

Gazzetta dello Sport previously reported that several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool, could enter the race for the Ivory Coast international in January.

La Repubblica have now provided an update on the midfielder’s situation by explaining that AC Milan have not been able to meet his contract demands.

It is asserted that Kessie is in his ‘last months’ as a Rossoneri player, with an international ‘auction’ for the player set to be ‘unleashed’

The report adds that Tottenham could face competition from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Juventus, and Inter Milan after the Nerrazuri entered the race for Kessie.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would fully expect Paratici to be in contact with Kessie’s representatives and Milan over a potential January deal for the midfielder. However, Spurs fans should not get their hopes up as the 24-year-old will be highly sought-after especially if he is available on a cut-price deal.
