Report: Spurs target may be on his way to Qatar instead of North London this summer

According to the latest reports from France, rumoured Spurs target M’Baye Niang could join Qatari club Al-Duhail this summer.

The striker has been in sensational form for Rennes this season, notching up fifteen goals in all competitions (tranfermarkt.com).

L’Equipe (via GFFN) reported two weeks ago that Tottenham were interested in signing the Senegal international when the transfer market opens.

It was said that the Lilywhites were competing with Marseille for the striker’s signature and had already held talks with his representatives over a move to North London.

The Senegal international was reportedly rated at between €18m and €20m by Rennes (Le Parisien).

However, Foot Mercato now report (as translated by Inside Football) that Qatari giants, Al-Duhail have intensified their efforts to sign the 25-year-old.

The report reveals that Al-Duhail have already begun negotiations with Rennes, as well as Niang’s representatives.

The former AC Milan striker has reportedly not shut the door on a move to Qatar is said to be considering Al-Duhail’s offer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Out of the various strikers we have been linked with from the Ligue 1 market (like Habib Diallo and Serhou Guirassy), Niang looks like the one that suits our requirements the best. However, if it is true that he wants to move to Qatar, then perhaps he is not motivated by footballing reasons, in which case, I cannot see us making an offer for him.
