Report: Spurs target refuses to sign new contract and desires Tottenham move

Tottenham Hotspur will now be looking to put their Champions League final defeat behind them, while strengthening their squad with some new summer signings.

Spurs have not signed a single new player in 16 months, with Lucas Moura being the club’s latest signing back in January 2018.

However, The Guardian now report that one Spurs target is determined to make the move over the North London before the start of the new season.

The report states that Sessegnon has told Fulham that he will not be signing a new contract, with only one year left on his current deal.

The 19-year-old winger is said to be a target for Man United and PSG, but prefers a move to Spurs as he believes Pochettino will develop him as a player.

Poch is said to want the deal done by July 8, when pre-season training stars. However, the move could be a way off as Fulham want £45m for their man, while Spurs only want to pay £25m.

Spurs Web Opinion:

For me, Sessegnon would be a superb investment at £25m, however, anything above and it’s too risky for my liking. He is still only a teenager, and after one below par season in the Prem, it is tricky to tell exactly how good he could become. Definitely worth bidding for though as I think Poch could be the perfect man to develop him.
