Report: Spurs target tells current club he wants Champions League football next season

Tottenham Hotspur target, Giovani Lo Celso, has reportedly told Real Betis that he wants to move in search of Champions League football this summer. Spurs bid £53m for Lo Celso earlier in this transfer window (BBC).

Real Betis coach, Joan Francesc Rubi, has been very vocal about his potential outgoing players on late.

Mucho Deporte has reported that Rubi recently referenced one player who openly wants to leave the club this summer, who many assumed to be Lo Celso.

However, confirmed reliable sources have apparently now confirmed that this player was in fact Takashi Inui, rather than the Argentine playmaker.

Having said this, while Rubi admitted that he had not yet spoken to Lo Celso ahead of the new season, he had learned through the club that the attacking midfielder wants to play Champions League football next season.

He also added that offers were there for the player this summer, but Betis want around €75m and it depends if an agreement can be reached that suits all parties.
