Report: Spurs target will ‘almost certainly’ leave current club this summer

Corriere della Sera have reported that Tottenham target, Joaquin Correa has made it clear that he wants to leave Lazio this summer and will ‘almost certainly’ do so (Sport Witness).

Correa enjoyed an impressive season for Lazio in Serie A and is now shining for Argentina in the Copa America alongside Spurs’ Giovani Lo Celso.

It is reported that Correa has now clearly told Lazio that he wants to leave the club in order to develop as a player elsewhere. The report adds that he wants a higher salary and a new challenge, with Lazio willing to grant him an exit.

The Lazio hierarchy apparently know that they can make a significant gain on the price they paid for him and Correa’s agent has already contacted Arsenal and Spurs.

Finally, it is said that Lazio would sell up for around £34m, although it is said that they may have to settle for less.

This comes after Gianluigi Longari reported this week that Spurs could make a move for the attacker.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham won’t be paying over £30m for many players this summer so I certainly do not see us going that high. However, Correa for around £20m/£25m would be a very good deal.
