Report: Spurs targeting AC Milan midfielder

Several reports in recent weeks have confirmed the fact that Tottenham are ready to part ways with Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele this month and are thus looking to add central midfielders to their squad.

Tottenham have been linked with Napoli’s Amadou Diawara, Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele and Genk’ Sander Berge so far and now according to rumours in Italy, Spurs have also expressed an interest in bringing AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie to North London.

According to a report in the Italian publication, Tuto Mercato, the Ivorian midfielder is said to be desperate for Champions League football and with Milan far from guaranteed of a place in next year’s competition, the 22-year-old is prepared to leave the club.

Milan are also said to be open to letting the midfield powerhouse leave for a fee of £36million. In the current market that fee represents great value for someone of Kessie’ ability and the Ivorian will certainly be a welcome addition to the squad if the move materialises.
