Report: Spurs the only club to make ‘concrete enquiry’ for Serie A star

The print edition of La Nazione (as relayed by Sport Witness) have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are the only club to make an approach for Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic this summer.

Some reports have indicated that Spurs could be in the market for two new central defenders during this summer’s transfer window.

Milenkovic is one of several centre-backs who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, with Viola News reporting two weeks ago that Fabio Paratici had contacted the 23-year-old’s agent regarding a move to North London.

Some sources from Italy have alleged that Fiorentina value the defender at around €25-30m (£21.5-£26m).

La Nazione have now revealed that the Serie A club have not received any offers that they find satisfactory.

The report states that the ‘only concrete enquiry’ for Milenkovic ‘is that of Tottenham’ but the Premier League club’s offer is described as ‘low’.

It is asserted that Spurs are the only viable destination for the Serbian as things stand, with the Lilywhites sending a message to Fiorentina they could make a fresh approach ‘but not before 20th or 25th of July’.

The likes of Alasdair Gold have indicated that Paratici likes to negotiate for multiple players at the same time and that is what appears to be happening, with reports indicating that Spurs have also made offers for the likes of Jules Kounde and Takehiro Tomiyasu. It appears as if Paratici views Milenkovic as an alternative rather than as his number one choice.
