Report: Spurs to compete with Juventus and Porto for £17m-rated defender

Turkish publication Fanatik have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Fenerbahce centre-back Kim Min-jae during the January transfer window.

Spurs were heavily linked with Kim during the summer of 2020, with multiple sources (SPOTV News and 90 min) reporting at the time that the North London club were trying to snap him up from Beijing Guoan.

The central defender left the Chinese club to join Fenerbahce this summer and has enjoyed a solid start to life in Turkish football.

Turkish outlet Fotospor reported last month that Spurs had been impressed with the 25-year-old’s performances for Fenerbahce and were readying a January offer for the defender.

This has now been backed up by Fanatik, who claim that Antonio Conte’s men hold a ‘serious interest’ in Kim.

However, Spurs are not the only ones who have their eyes on the centre-back, with Porto and Juventus also thought to be keen on snapping up the South Korean international.

Finally, the report adds that Fenerbache do not want to let Kim go in January and will ask for €20m (£17m) for a player, who they signed for €3m (£2.5m) in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Kim was reportedly on Tottenham’s radar under the previous regime but it is anyone’s guess if Paratici and Conte are also fans of the South Korean. Turkish outlets are not the most reliable when it comes to transfer news and so, we need to wait and see if this is picked up by more reputable sources.
