Report: Spurs to contact manager for talks – Possibly as early as this week

The Telegraph have reported that Tottenham Hotspur plan to make contact with Luis Enrique as they continue the search for a new head coach to replace Antonio Conte.

Fabrizio Romano reported on his Here We Go Podcast earlier this month that Julian Nagelsmann is Tottenham’s top managerial target, with Luis Enrique the second favourite.

The Telegraph confirm that Chelsea have already interviewed Enrique, who is currently out of work after parting ways with Spain this year, but the Blues may now have to battle the Lilywhites.

The report claims that Spurs plan to contact Enrique for talks and may do so as early as this week. However, there is no suggestion that this means he is their top target or will be offered the job.

Enrique is reportedly keen to return to management in England and likes the idea of taking over from Frank Lampard at Chelsea come the end of the season.

Spurs also still have Julian Nagelsmann near the top of their wishlist.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I would be surprised if Tottenham didn’t get one of these four names: Nagelsmann, Enrique, Arne Slot, or Vincent Kompany. My top choice would be Nagelsmann, then Slot or Kompany. I have a bad feeling about another big-name boss with a huge personality when it comes to Enrique.
