Report: Spurs to make 25-year-old train alone upon return to club – Not in Conte’s plans

Tottenham are planning to make Tanguy Ndombele train away from the first team when he returns to the club from Lyon, according to Football Insider.

Ndombele rejoined his old side on a loan deal until the end of the season in January, with the French club holding an option to make the move permanent for £54 million (Sky Sports).

However, CalcioMercato reported last month that Lyon have no intention of paying the fee, with the 25-year-old expected to head back to parent club Spurs this summer.

And Football Insider now reports that Spurs similarly expect Ndombele back, but do not plan to integrate him into first-team training sessions under Antonio Conte in pre-season.

The report adds that Conte does not view Ndombele as part of his plans heading into the new campaign and will make him train away from the group as he reportedly did before his move to Lyon.

Ndombele has made 14 appearances for Lyon and featured across both legs of the French side’s Europa League quarter-final exit to West Ham last month (Transfermarkt).

He was then left out of three of Peter Bosz’s match-day squads following the defeat, but has since managed to play his way back into contention.

It looks like all is a lost cause regarding Ndombele at Spurs and the club will hope to shift him on as soon as they can.

Lyon appear to be off that list considering they don’t plan on purchasing him outright, so they may need to cut his price down a little to attract more suitors.
