Report: Spurs to make an offer for Manchester United teenager

Tottenham Hotspur could soon be short in central defence if Jan Vertonghen is to be let go at the end of the season, with the 32-year-old having just six months left on his contract.

Toby Alderweireld may have signed a new deal with Spurs, but even he is now 30-years-old, so could Spurs’ back line do with an injection of youth?

Mourinho already has the likes of Davinson Sanchez, Juan Foyth, and Japhet Tanganga at his disposal, but he could look to his former club for an extra player at the back.

It has been reported by All Nigeria Soccer that Spurs are looking at making an offer for Man United centre-back Junior Nkwonta.

The highly-rated teenager is said to be heading for the exit door in the summer as his contract runs down, with Spurs ready to pounce for the defender.

Nkwonta is a centre-back by trade, but has also played at right-back and defensive midfield. He has now been handed the chance to train with Spurs in order to impress and earn a contract.
