Report: Spurs to smash transfer record for Premier League wonderkid

According to Metro, Spurs are ready to smash their transfer record to sign Premier League and Bournemouth wonderkid David Brooks.

The young Welshman would apparently set Spurs back £50m, a vast increase from the £11.5m fee the Cherries paid for him last summer.

The winger is already the favourite to scoop the Young Player of the Year Award for this season, a sign that perhaps the Lilywhites should have gone in for him when he was still at Sheffield United.

Tottenham’s current transfer record is at the £40m mark, a fee they paid for young centre back Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.

While Daniel Levy is no one to splash the cash, a young British player is exactly the kind of star that could persuade him to part with the club’s money.

Say what you want about Levy, he is always willing to invest in the future of the team.

However, Spurs may have to beat other Prem sides to Brooks’ signature, with Man United said to be interested, the club Brooks has supported since he was a boy.
