Journalist Pedro Almeida has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are now set to begin negotiations with Bayern Munich regarding Julian Nagelsmann as the German is willing to replace Antonio Conte.

The last 48 hours have seen major developments in Tottenham’s rumoured pursuit of Naglesmann, with news first emerging on Friday that the 35-year-old had pulled out of the running for the Chelsea job (Fabrizio Romano).

SportBild subsequently asserted on Saturday that the recently departed Bayern Munich boss had ended talks with Chelsea to concentrate on the Tottenham job.

The publication claimed that the track to take Nagelsmann to Spurs is now ‘hot’ as the German is ‘very tempted’ by the idea of taking over at N17.

The report also explained that Tottenham would owe Bayern compensation as Nagelsmann is still officially contracted to the Bundesliga club and is currently on gardening leave.

Almeida has now taken to social media to state that the former RB Leipzig head coach is now ‘ready to accept’ Spurs’ offer.

The journalist added that the North London club will thus soon begin talks with Bayern over an agreement for their former boss.

There is no doubt that Nagelsman is the best candidate for the job as not only is he a big enough name to convince the likes of Kane of the club’s ambition but he also plays attacking football and is the sort of project manager that Spurs need.

If Tottenham felt that they had a fighting chance of getting Nagelsmann, that explains why they have not reached out to Pochettino yet.

However, the club are also risking letting the Argentine go to Chelsea if they are not able to strike a deal with the German.
