Report: Spurs tracking striker dubbed the ‘next Erling Haaland’

The Daily Express have revealed that Fabio Paratici and his network of scouts are keeping a close eye on Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko.

A whole host of top-class forwards have polished their craft at Salzburg over recent years including Erling Haaland, Takumi Minamino, Patson Daka and Hwang Hee-chan, and Sesko now appears to be the latest big-name to emerge out of the Austrian club.

The teenager established himself as a key player for Salzburg during the 2021/22 campaign, scoring 11 times and providing seven assists across all competitions (Transfermarkt) and has earned the label as the ‘next Erling Haaland.

The Express have now claimed that Spurs are one of several clubs tracking the Slovenia international on the back of his breakout season.

The report states that AC Milan are also keen on snapping up Sesko, with the Serie A club’s director Paolo Maldini said to have met with the striker’s agent this summer.

However, it is explained that Spurs are not currently poised to make a move for the 19-year-old during this transfer window and that scouts from the North London club will continue watching the youngster closely next season.

Spurs Web Opinion

While backing Conte in the transfer market with readymade stars as Spurs have done this summer, is important, it is just as crucial that the club are on the lookout for the best emerging talent.

Paratici showed with the signings of Pape Sarr and Bryan Gil last summer that he likes taking punts on young talent, and so we can expect similar signings to be made over the coming years.
