Report: Spurs transfer blow as rising teenage star rejects new contract

Tottenham Hotspur have a number of talented young players in their academy, including 19-year-old Tashan Oakley-Boothe.

However, it has now been reported by Football Insider that the highly-rated starlet has turned down the offer of a new contract from Spurs.

Oakley-Boothe is currently contracted until the summer of 2021, but has rejected the chance to extend that deal for now.

The teenager made his debut for Spurs back in 2017 under Mauricio Pochettino in the EFL Cup, as well as being included on the bench for Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup fixtures a couple of seasons ago.

However, the midfield man has not been included in a single squad this season, under Mourinho or Pochettino. Oliver Skipp seems to be above him in the academy midfield pecking order.

Spurs are said to be keen on agreeing a new contract as they believe Oakley-Boothe can establish himself in the first team eventually.
