Report: Spurs transfer boost as target midfielder has priced slashed by £45m

With Tottenham Hotspur selling both Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama in the past two seasons, the club may be on the lookout for a new midfield enforcer this summer.

One man who has been linked with the North London club is Valencia central midfielder, Geoffrey Kondogbia (Sky Sports).

The 27-year-old is said to have a release clause of around £70m, a value that would break the transfer record that Spurs spent on Tanguy Ndombele last summer (Evening Standard).

Spurs are said to be preparing a bid in the region of £35m as Daniel Levy looks to secure the Central African Republic international for half price.

However, the Evening Standard say that Kondogbia could sell for even less if Valencia do not qualify for the Champions League next season, with a £25m value being touted.

Kondogbia has played 79 games for Valencia across three seasons, scoring six goals in that time. He has also played for Inter Milan, Monaco, and Sevilla throughout his career (Wikipedia).
