Report: Spurs travelled all the way to Chile to have €3m striker bid turned down

According to a report by La Cuarta, Tottenham Hotspur flew all the way to Chile only to have negotiations over a new forward fall flat.

Spurs travelled to Santiago to speak with club Colo-Colo over a potential deal for their 19-year-old striker, Ivan Morales.

The striker apparently has a £4.5m buyout clause in his current contract, with Tottenham offering just £2.6m for the player.

Not only did Tottenham judge his valuation to be too high, but the deal on the table only allowed Spurs to own 60% of Morales’ image rights, something they were not interested in.

The player is under contract until 2022 and currently has one cap for the senior Chile international side (TransferMarkt).

However, HITC claim that the striker has scored just one goal in over 400 minutes so far this season.

Spurs Web Opinion:

This whole deal seems rather pointless to me when Spurs already have an up-and-coming teenage striker in their academy in Troy Parrott. Poch should back the young Irishman to be Harry Kane’s support striker this season.
