Report: Spurs tried to sign Wan-Bissaka – included this player in a swap deal offer

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked to numerous right-backs this summer after both Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier struggled last season.

Tottenham do have Kyle Walker-Peters, a young academy graduate, on their books, but the Englishman has been used sporadically by Pochettino over the past two seasons.

One player who Spurs were said to be looking at was Crystal Palace’s breakthrough star, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who stood out as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League last season (Sun).

However, Wan-Bissaka now looks to be set to join Man United in the near future after the Red Devils apparently agreed a £50m fee with the Eagles for the England U21 star (BBC).

It did not look as if Tottenham had put up much of a fight for Wan-Bissaka, but The Times now report that Spurs did actually make an offer.

The report states that Spurs offered Kyle Walker-Peters as part of a deal for the Palace player. The Times also add that Walker-Peters may still be sold to Palace as a Wan-Bissaka replacement.
