Report: Spurs turn down the chance to sign young defender from ‘big six’ rival

Tottenham Hotspur currently boast a number of gems within their academy in North London, including the likes of Troy Parrot, Dennis Cirkin, Malachi Fagan-Walcott, Kion Etete, and more.

Japhet Tanganga made the step up to the first-team from the academy this season, while Harry Winks and Harry Kane remain a testimony to the Spurs youth ranks.

However, Tottenham have reportedly now turned down the chance to sign Manchester United starlet, Junior Nkwonta (All Nigeria Soccer).

The centre-back is said to become a free agent in the summer and had even spent some time training with Spurs before the coronavirus lockdown.

Of course, Mourinho would have likely seen the youngster in action during his time in Manchester at the helm of the Red Devils.

However, Spurs and apparently now decided against signing the Man United starlet and Nkwonta could instead drop down the divisions with Peterborough United and Exeter City both interested. The reason behind Tottenham’s decision is said to be unknown.
