Report: Spurs v Crystal Palace set to be postponed following further Covid issues

Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace which is scheduled to be held tomorrow is now expected to be postponed, according to Football.London writer Mark Wyatt.

The journalist took to Twitter to claim that two further members of the backroom staff at the Selhurst Park outfit have tested positive for Covid-19 and the players have been delayed from travelling to their hotel this evening after they await contact from the Premier League, who have communicated back that the game will be off.

Antonio Conte’s side were due to take on the Eagles at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tomorrow afternoon as they look to continue their push for a top four finish.

Spurs already have a fixture headache on their hands following the recent postponements against Brighton and Leicester City as a result of the virus outbreak in the North London squad, while they also saw their match at Burnley called off shortly before kick-off due to snowfall.

They must now face the prospect of fitting another re-arranged fixture into their schedule next year. The news means only five of the original nine Premier League matches will take place on Boxing Day.
