Report: Spurs ‘very attentive’ to the possibility of signing another Real Betis star

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering making an offer for Real Betis right-back, Emerson, who joined the club from Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro last season in what was an unusually structured deal.

As revealed by Sport Witness, Barcelona paid half of his transfer fee while Betis paid the other half, and the Catalan giants thus reportedly have the option to sign the full-back for €6m in the 2021 summer window.

It is also revealed that Barcelona will own a sizable portion of the profit if the right-back is sold to another club, although they would have to give a green light for any transfer to go through.

AS (relayed by Sport Witness) now report that Tottenham are ‘very attentive’ to the 21-year-old’s situation and could make a move for him this summer. It is revealed that Spurs could face competition from Italian duo Inter Milan and AC Milan.

I really like what I’ve seen of Emerson at Betis so far but this looks like it could be quite a complicated deal to pull-off, with agreements needed with both Barcelona and Betis. Besides, I can also see Barcelona snapping him up themselves.
