Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to splash the cash this summer after a two transfer window hiatus from signing stars.

The last player to come into the club was Lucas Moura way back in January 2018 from PSG.

Many have touted the new stadium as the main reason behind Spurs’ lack of transfer activity, despite Daniel Levy denying these claims.

Despite not brining anyone in this season, Spurs fans did wave goodbye to favourite Mousa Dembele, a player who has been running the midfield since Pochettino’s arrival at the club.

When you consider this, along with the potential departure of Christian Eriksen, it becomes clear that Spurs will need to invest in some extra midfield talent this summer.

The Guardian claim that Spurs may look to Newcastle for such talent, and their star midfielder Sean Longstaff.

Longstaff came through the ranks at Newcastle this season, and the 21-year-old became a crucial first team star before his nasty injury.

He has been compared to Michael Carrick in his style of play, a man Spurs fans will know all about.
