Report: Spurs want Premier League striker once Hojbjerg deal is done

According to The Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to turn their attentions to Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson once they have wrapped up a deal for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Wilson has reportedly been identified as a potential Harry Kane backup by Tottenham after the Cherries relegation to the Championship (Mirror) but it has been revealed that the Lilywhites are facing considerable competition for the striker’s signature (Sky Sports).

The Daily Star reveal that Spurs are ready to now concentrate their efforts on snapping up the striker after reportedly agreeing on a transfer fee and personal terms with Hojbjerg.

It is claimed that the Cherries star is at the top of Tottenham’s wish list as far as strikers are concerned ahead of next season.

The England international has reportedly already informed Bournemouth that he would like to leave the club and continue playing in the Premier League.

Spurs have been installed as the favourites to snap up the 28-year-old ahead of both West Ham and Newcastle.

Bournemouth are said to be holding out for around £20million for the striker but Spurs reportedly believe a compromise can be reached, with Wilson said to be keen on joining the Champions League finalists.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am surprised that the rumours linking us with Wilson have been met with such a lack of enthusiasm by some Spurs fans on social media. The England international is still in his prime and has shown that he can score goals in the Premier League. He is also someone who could be effective when paired alongside Kane up front. For the rumoured price, I believe Wilson can potentially be a smart addition for us.
