Report: Spurs want to complete £30m deal for attacker with ‘huge potential’

Football Insider say that Tottenham Hotspur could press ahead with an early move for Callum Hudson-Odoi when the transfer window opens, given Nottingham Forest’s need to quickly raise some funds.

The report points out that Forest run the risk of being hit with a points deduction for a second season in a row, with the club potentially in danger of failing to comply with the PSR.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men would thus have to raise funds before June 30, which is the cut-off date for the accounts to be submitted.

It is alleged that Tottenham thus sense an opportunity to make an early move for Hudson-Odoi, who is one of the players that Forest could potentially sacrifice.

Tottenham are ready to push for Callum Hudson-Odoi

The report claims that Ange Postecoglou’s men want to sign a young attacking player this summer, with the England international said to be one of the players on the club’s radar.

The publication asserts that Tottenham see the former Chelsea man as someone with ‘huge potential’ and with the Mildands club ready to sell him for just £30m, the Lilywhites sense a big opportunity for an early deal.

Spurs Web Opinion

This report by FI contracts what we have heard from Alasdair Gold and Paul O Keefe over recent days, with those two suggesting that Hudson-Odoi is not of particular interest to Tottenham.

I personally see the 23-year-old as being a great fit for Ange’s system but now that Spurs have extended Werner’s loan, they might be targeting a wide player who is more comfortable on the right than the left.
