Report: Spurs want to sign two new players in same position this summer

According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are in the hunt for two new goalkeepers in the summer transfer window.

Hugo Lloris started the season strongly but his form has dropped over recent weeks, with the Frenchman being guilty of some basic errors.

Jose Mourinho has defended the Spurs number one and insisted that his opinion of the 34-year-old has not changed in light of his recent mistakes.

However, that has not stopped speculation regarding Lloris’ future, with reports indicating that Paris Saint-Germain could try to swoop for the Tottenham captain in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, it has also been suggested that Spurs will look to move Paulo Gazzaniga on when he returns from his loan spell in the summer.

Football Insider claim that the North Londoners do not just want a goalkeeper to replace Lloris in the summer but also want to sign an established shot-stopper to serve as an understudy.

The report suggests that Hart, who was signed last summer, is likely to stay on at Spurs.

Spurs Web Opinion

If we are to bring in two new goalkeepers, I would rather see us hang on to Gazzaniga than Hart. However, it is clear that Jose considers the 33-year-old to be an important voice in the dressing room and could thus decide to hold on to him.

I am not convinced that the Spurs boss wants to upgrade on Lloris in the summer but it is possible that the club are considering various options as they are worried that the Frenchman may fancy a move to Paris. Lloris would be down the final year of his contract at the end of the season and that could well force the club’s hand.
