Report: Spurs want to wrap up first summer signing before Champions League final

Tottenham Hotspur have yet to make a signing in the last 16 months, including two full transfer windows.

The last signing secured by Spurs was actually Lucas Moura back in January 2018, meaning that he is strangely still the new boy in the Tottenham dressing room.

However, this may not be the case for too much longer, as Spurs are reportedly looking to seal their first transfer of the summer in the coming days.

Football Insider report that Tottenham want Ryan Sessegnon to sign before the Champions League final on June 1.

Spurs are said to have tabled an offer of around £20m for the youngster, after he was relegated from the Premier League this season with Fulham (Daily Star).

The teenager’s contract expires in the summer of 2020, so Fulham will likely have to sell up soon or risk losing Sessegnon on a free transfer.

Sessegnon is said to prefer a move to Spurs as he wants to remain in London and Pochettino has a reputation for developing young English talent (Daily Mail).

Spurs Web Opinion:

£20m for Sessegnon would represent a great deal for Spurs. The teenager looks like a great prospect, and would provide cover in both left-wing and left-back positions. I always thought that £50m was way too much for him last summer, but this cut-price represents value for money if Spurs can pull it off.
