Report: Spurs watching winger who has scored in his last three PL matches

Israeli publication Ynet have revealed that Tottenham are monitoring the progress of Shakhtar Donetsk winger, Manor Solomon, who is currently on loan at Fulham.

Solomon was one of the standout attackers in the Ukrainian top flight in the 18 months prior to the league’s suspension last year following Russia’s invasion.

The 23-year-old completed a temporary move to Craven Cottage in January and he is yet to start a single Premier League game for the London side, with Marco Silva using him as an impact substitute off the bench (Transfermarkt).

The Israel international has found the back of the net after coming on as a second-half substitute in Fulham’s last three matches against Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Wolves.

He was handed a start in the FA Cup this week against Leeds United and netted once again, with the London side running away 2-0 winners.

Ynet claim that although Soloman is due to return to Shaktar at the end of the season as per the terms of the agreement, Fulham are now trying to keep him beyond the summer by signing him to a long-term contract.

The report adds that the Ukrainian club could be prepared to sell the winger to the highest bidder since the country is still at war and there is no clarity on when the league will restart.

However, it is explained that Fulham are not the only club interested in Solomon, with Spurs and their North London rivals, Arsenal, also said to be tracking the Shaktar man.

In the 2020/21 season, Solomon managed 11 goals in 35 matches across all competitions, including two in the Champions League (TransferMarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

Antonio Conte will likely want to add reinforcements to his frontline in the summer, with Moura on his way out and the club unlikely to sign Danjuma permanently.

However, one would expect the Lilywhites to target an attacker of a much higher calibre than Solomon.

I would not be surprised if Spurs put in a bid for Allan Saint-Maximin.
