Report: Spurs weighing up move for Bayern Munich forward who is soon to be out of contract

Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a move for Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry this summer, according to the Daily Star.

The 26-year-old will enter the final year of his contract at the German giants at the end of this season and is reported to be holding out for £13m a year.

Bayern are not prepared to be held to ransom over the contractual demands of the German international, who scored four goals past Spurs in a crushing 7-2 Champions League defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2019.

Antonio Conte is said to be pushing Spurs to move forward with a cut-price deal for Gnabry considering the short period of time he has left on his current deal but will face competition from the likes of Real Madrid.

The Spanish outfit are also keen to land the former Arsenal player, however, they must first wait to offload Gareth Bale this summer when his contract expires before making any new signings.

Gnabry was on target yesterday during Bayern’s 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund which saw them crowned as Bundesliga champions.

Gnabry would add an extra dimension to the Tottenham attack, however, he is likely to be a man in demand with a number of Europe’s top clubs keen on him and can guarantee him not only Champions League football, but in reality, a large pay packet than what Daniel Levy is likely to table given the fact the top earners take home around £200,000-a-week.
