Report: Spurs will listen to offers for player with 28 appearances this season

According to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to listen to offers for Davinson Sanchez when the transfer window opens in the summer.

Sanchez has been a regular starter for Spurs over recent weeks alongside Toby Alderweireld and the pair seem to have rectified some of the defensive issues that Jose Mourinho’s men were having earlier in the season.

The Colombian has 28 appearances in all competitions this season. However, Football Insider claim that Mourinho does not consider Sanchez to be a long-term solution at the back for the club.

It is said that the Tottenham boss does not believe the 24-year-old can be trusted in big matches as his recovery pace and bravery do not compensate for his recklessness and lack of composure.

The report suggests that Mourinho feels Spurs overpaid Ajax in the summer of 2017 to land Sanchez for a fee rising up to £42m and those at the club are frustrated that the defender has not developed as they would have hoped for over the last four years.

It is asserted that Tottenham will look to move Sanchez on in the summer, with Mourinho wanting to bring in two central defenders to the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite the fact that Alderweireld and Sanchez seem to be Jose’s first-choice pairing at centre-back for now, I believe the Belgian and the Colombian are the most likely out of our four central defenders to be sold in the summer if the club is looking to bring in two new centre-halves.

It is possible that we might also get to see Joe Rodon being loaned out to a Premier League club to get some experience under his belt.
