Report: Spurs will loan Troy Parrott out under one condition this summer

According to Inews, Tottenham want to ensure that Troy Parrott is used as a number nine if he is loaned out for the upcoming season.

After a couple of disappointing loan spells at Millwall and Ipswich Town during the 2020/21 campaign, Parrott finally showed what he is capable of during his season-long spell at MK Dons last season.

The striker scored 10 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions for the League One side (Transfermarkt), often being the Dons’ main creative outlet in the number ten role.

While the teenager certainly showed that he has more strings to his bow than just scoring goals during his time at the MK Stadium, Inews have now suggested that Tottenham want him to operate as a number nine for the upcoming season.

The report claims that Antonio Conte’s men are willing to loan out Parrott to the Championship but only under the condition that he is used primarily as a centre-forward.

Parrott very much seems to have the makings of a modern-day centre-forward, with his ability to drop deep and link up play while also knowing where the back of the net is.

Perhaps, Conte feels that the 20-year-old’s hold-up play needs to improve, which is perhaps why Spurs want him to feature as a number nine during the upcoming season.
